*location:*		Shippingsport Bridge - As a part of the replacement of this 71-year-old bridge, Edward Kraemer & Sons removed an eight span overhead truss bridge, including the lift span, over the shipping channel of the Illinois River. The bridge was replaced with a 1,775-foot-long plate girder bridge.

		14- inch H piling was driven for the concrete piers and abutments. The two river piers were constructed by building cofferdams that blocked water while the team excavated 58 feet below the water level. Concrete seals were poured and pier footings and caps followed. A total of 11,000 cubic yards of concrete was used on the project.
